MOUNTAIN DISTRICT ROLES OPEN FOR APPLICATION 2023
Mountain District would like to advertise the following roles:
Umpire Co-ordinator/Allocations for Tournaments/Weeknight Competitions/ Saturday Competition:
Responsibilities & Duties:
-
Organise umpire rosters and maintain records. Allocate umpires to matches as required.
-
Allocation of umpires to tournaments/weeknight competitions
-
Ensure umpires are aware of umpire development programs offered by the organisation.
-
Encourage umpires to nominate as umpires for Region, Association, Tournament, School and other representative teams.
-
Ensure all umpires are recognised for their efforts.
-
Submit regular reports to the organisation and attend meetings as required.
-
Liaise with Member Organisation staff and Umpire Advisory Group, as required.
Time Required: May be required weekends/weekdays days as requested, may work remotely
Umpire Court Supervisor/Signing On of Umpires for Saturday Competition:
Responsibilities & Duties:
-
Liaise with Umpire Co-ordinator in regard to umpire rosters and maintain records.

Sign on of umpires and umpire court supervising
-
Ensure umpires are aware of umpire development programs offered by the organisation.
-
Encourage umpires to nominate as umpires for Region, Association, Tournament, School and other representative teams.
-
Ensure all umpires are recognised for their efforts.
-
Submit regular reports to the organisation and attend meetings as required.
-
Liaise with Member Organisation staff and Umpire Advisory Group, as required.
Time Required: All day Saturday and other time requirements may arise from time to time
Lead Umpire Educator:
Responsibilities and Duties:
-
To ensure the ongoing training, education and testing of umpires;
-
Work closely with the Umpire Co-Ordinator/Umpire Court Supervisor/Administrator in relation to rostering, ensuring only appropriately qualified and experienced umpires take the court;
-
Assist with the appointment of mentor Umpire Trainers;
-
Assist with the appointment of and mentor Umpire Testers;
-
Have input into the development of a training and testing roster, to be submitted to the Competition Administration;
-
Assist with the completion and filing all necessary paperwork with Netball Victoria in relation to testing;
-
Conduct regular Rules Discussions and umpire clinics;
-
Active promotion of Umpiring Netball events through email, print and meeting attendance (as required)
-
Provide reports, support and advice to the Competition Administration as required.
-
Other duties as directed by the Competition Administration.
HOURS OF WORK
Your hours will be flexible, but will comprise of:
-
Administration (either at the complex or at home)
-
courtside on Saturday during the Saturday Competition. Alternate/extra time requirements may arise from time to time.
Lead Umpire Mentor:
Responsibilities and Duties:

Work closely with the Umpire Co-Ordinator/Umpire Court Supervisor/Administrator in relation to rostering, ensuring only appropriately qualified and experienced umpires take the court;

Working with Children visas and Police Checks are required for all positions.
Positions will commence 1 February, 2023, applications close 16 January, 2023.
